Does the Faithful and Discreet Slave "Mediate"?

On multiple occasions, I have come across those claiming that the “WTBTS” (They love to make us look like puppets of a corporation,) acts like a “mediator” between us and God, but let's take a look at Christendom* and then compare them to Jehovah's Witnesses, and see who really are acting like the mediators. I think we all know that the Catholic Pope openly claims the position of mediator. Then there are the ministers, priests, reverends, deacons, presbyters, evangelists and self-professed prophets who claim to be the sole channel through which revelation is coming to their congregations. They will say “I'm right and I'm never wrong.” Many have taken the words of Wycliffe, Wesley, Luther and Calvin as the sole determiners, or the foundation, of modern doctrine. Many of them, especially evangelists and the Pope, like to sit upon gold thrones and take “prayer requests”. Jehovah's Witnesses Encourage Questions and Research [Opposers Dismythed]

Many claim that Jehovah's Witnesses are not allowed to question or do independent research outside the publications of Jehovah's Witnesses. But is this true? Following are statements made in the Bible and in the publication Benefit From Theocratic Ministry School Education that demonstrate that Jehovah's Witnesses are indeed taught to use every tool at their disposal, including questioning others in the congregation and reviewing secular texts. (In fact, all who attend the Theocratic Ministry School are expected to familiarize themselves with the latter book and which we have studied in the meeting. Each member studies the assigned Bible reading and has a chance to discuss portions of the Bible in the school each week and are given opportunities to express their thoughts on those scriptures and their research on them.)
