Flip-side News: Lauren Stuart Did Not Do It Because of Shunning [Opposers Dismythed]

Image
We withheld writing this response to the Lauren Stuart murder-suicide until we had all the facts regarding the incident from the police. Now that the actual police report has been completed and filed by the police, let us take a look at the real facts. First, we would like to express our condolences to Lauren's father and 11 siblings, whose feelings the media has failed to consider because of their religious affiliation. We know that this time cannot have been easy for them. Jehovah is with them and the love of their families and friends in their congregations and their worldwide brotherhood is with them. On February 15th, the day after Lauren Stuart celebrated Valentine's day together with her family, Lauren killed her son, daughter, husband and family dog and then turned the gun on herself. Both the media and our apostates have been quick to prejudiciously and publically humiliate Jehovah's Witnesses over the shunning issue without any evidence except the word of on...

Do Not Stop at Asking the Question [Opposers Dismythed]

Image
Just before he finally passed away, Jesus asked a potent question: "Eʹli, Eʹli, laʹma sa·bach·thaʹni?" This translates as "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" or "My God, my God, why have you left me?" This was a profound question. One could even see it as the question a vengeful opposition member might ask to cause others to abandon God. That former member could pose the question as an accusation, then say, "It is because you did not care about me! You pretended to care! But inside, you were just using me and you used me up! And at the moment I needed you most, you turned your back on me. You should be ashamed of yourself! No one listen to God! He is deceiving you for selfish reasons! He doesn't care about you!" But, of course, anyone who believes Jesus is the Son of God and knows the Scriptures, knows that this is not the kind of question Jesus was asking. Jesus' question was a quote from a Scripture that gives us a way of ha...

Is Shunning a Violation of Human Rights?

Image
There is a quote routinely parroted by apostates accusing our organization of "violating" human rights when former members are shunned. Here is the quote they use from Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: "Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion ; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief , and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance ." - Emphasis Ours. Basically, they claim that somehow shunning violates their freedom of conscience, thought, and religion. Let us briefly examine why shunning in the way Jehovah's Witnesses practice it does not violate human rights, or Article 18. Understanding Article 18 To understand if shunning is a violation of Article 18, ask yourself these questions  if your association with Jehovah's Witnesses has ended : "H...

Flip-side News: Opposers Want Ex-Criminals to Stop Confessing Sins

By C. J. Williams Many of our opposers seem to want those of Jehovah's Witnesses who have once been criminals to stop confessing their sins to the elders. They also seem to want to take away the freedom of victims and anyone who hears about a case, to decide whether they will report the offender. Victims and their families could end up paying the price along with the offender. If you have ever been molested, you are not alone. However, if your molester has not repented and has re-offended, then they are actually an uncommon breed among child molesters.  Only 11-17% of child molesters in the world ever re-offend within 15 years after ceasing their activity . (That number is doubled for molesters of boys.) In fact, regarding Jehovah's Witnesses, the July 15, 2002 Watchtower, p.9, recorded a response by one prison that stated, "In the ten years that this program has been in operation, not one released inmate who was baptized in prison as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses ha...

Look Out For: The Deceivers

The claims that the organization is hiding child molestation cases has provided a springboard for many so-called "watchdog" organizations bent upon bringing accusation against the organization for every incident even remotely related to Jehovah's Witnesses, most having nothing to do with the issue of molestation, yet under the guise of serving that issue. Even Jehovah's Witness children who were assaulted by non-Jehovah's Witnesses have not proved free from exploitation by these unscrupulous "watchdogs". I will not be presenting the proof of their misdeeds in this post as I do not want to spread their cancer and this is not a court of law. But I want to show the reader the extent of their lies and how to identify whether the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses is actually at fault or not when they come across such information from these ones. False Claims Made By A Certain Watchdog Organization Every last watchdog organization focused on the c...

Flip-Side News: Organization Vindicated of "Smash and Grab" Lies

Image
Note:  The documents and images linked below are already a matter of public record online. I felt this outright lying accusation was serious enough to warrant providing the specific documents here for a defense. Update [9/24/15]:  Besides the May edition of JW Broadcasting, I also learned of a third and forth letter that former members are making out to be a whole lot more than they are, so I have added them here. Our opposers are always making up lies against the organization. (Acts 28:22; Matthew 5:11-12) This time the claim is that the recent adjustment of congregations not having to pay back loans is a "smash-and-grab" and "stealth tithing", claiming that now the monthly repayments of congregations are indefinite, but this is not so. First of all, "tithing" means "taking tenth". Jehovah's Witnesses do not practice tithing at all. All contributions are 100% voluntary and unsolicited, unlike Christendom's churches who pass the p...
